MD Golf have been leading the way in affordable forged irons for many years, this is their latest offering.
This is what MD Golf say about these irons:
"The Seve range would not be complete without a classic set of forged irons. Carefully engineered by our team, the clean lines and feel of our finest forging to date, offer the golfer unparalleled quality at this price point."
What are forged irons?
Irons are manufactured in 1 of 2 ways - Forged or Cast.
Forged irons are molded from one solid block of malleable metal and then pounded into exact shape and finally ground and milled with various grooves and lettering to finish the process, whereas Cast irons are created in one fell swoop by pouring liquefied metal into a die cast that forms the club including all grooves, screw slots and holes for cavities and weights, lettering and insignias.
The end result of a forged iron is a solid looking, soft metal iron, often preferred by better players as they provide a much better feel and look than a cast iron. Cast clubs are more common as this process is easier and cheaper.
These beautiful forged irons perform every bit as well as they look. They are cavity backed irons (not Blades) so they are quite forgiving, although they are aimed at the better than average player (16 h'cap & below).
The soft forged head provides plenty of feel, and all the irons feature a milled face for extra spin and control.
We honestly believe that you will not find a better set of forged irons at this price!
